THE TOTALIZATOR. TO THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — The Kadina and Wallaroo Times — 12 January 1889

TH7jS TOTALIZATOE. :-j,: - TO THE ED1TOB. Sifc,-It appears that owing to the very proper precaution taken in the interests of the public it has been deemed necessary to; make a resolution compelling racing" clubs to vise "certain patented macbine for the above ; the -expense of same will deosr country clubs from its use and the benefits accruing from same. ThiB is to be regretted, but I think there is a way to meet' the difficulty. And I would venture to say it might be overcome, by country clubs amalgamating together and purchase-a machine which could be trans ported irom one race course to any other, an arrangement being made previously M that tbe ^different meetings should not clash. Each racing club could then erect .,a permanent building on its own conree, and each building would be fitted to receive the one machine,-so that only the actual machine fittings "would reanira transportation -1 antj-&c«. J TICKERA SPORTS. These annual sports cameoffon Wed nesday, Jan. 9.
