The following are the crossings at the Darling Bridge, North Bourke, for the week ending 16th June :— On the 12th — 285 cattle from Nocatunga to Sydney, W. B. Hughes owner, J. Johnson in charge, J. Anderson and Co. agents. 12th — 289 rams froin Nyngan to Perillia, R. Goldsbrough and Co. owners, H. Lacy in charge. 13th— 2988 sheep from Tinapagee to Melbonrne, It Feian owner, J. Cummins in charge, Lee ami Mac&lister agents. RSAN& HAMMOND, Melbourne and Bourke, report having sold 5000 ewes, with lambs at foot, on account of Messrs. John Davison and Co., Wilglia Downs.

We sold 4000, including 1000 Walhallow wethers, tops, 9s 2d ; a few seconds, 8s 2d ; W. Porters wethers, 9s 2d ; a few seconds 8s 6d ; 2000 Cook's Brildool wethers, Ss 6d to 8s lOd ; a few seconds, 7s Sd 5S0 cattle yarded ; market considerably firmer, prices being fully 10s in advance of last sale day. We sold 112 Hooper and Barnett's Merriwa bullocks, £5 . 10s 9d.

CORRESPONDENCE THE THIRD PARTY. TO THE KDITOB OF THE ' WESTERN HERALD.' Sib, — Our brief Parliamentary history furnishes several instances of the formation of a third party in the popular House. Whenever Government and Opposition seem to vie as to which can do the most foolish things the formation of a third party is the natural alternative to sensible and patriotic men, who neither are under the spell of strong party teeling nor nave temporarily lose me use ot tbeir reasoning faculties under die glamour of some strong personal influence. X remember no instance of the leader of a third parry, when successful, being able to form a Ministry from the ranks of his followers alone, and occasionally a third party has become absorbed in the other two. But the question of interest to the country is not so much whether any particular individuals aro thrust into power as whether right principles of government are gaining ground. A petition for his re lease has been signed by 53 members of Parliament on the erond of ill health. Later.
