An Important Matter to Borough and Township Auditors.—Several times in tbe last few months we Lave called tbte attention of the people and officers of theseveral boroughs and townsbips in this county: to the law requiring them to publish an itemized financial statement of their accounts jin the newspapers in their immediate neighborhood. Ws—have been led to do this, not altogether, from a eelfish motive, but because it is our duty as journ^ alists to keep the people posted in all matters that pertain to their interests; and also because we have noticed that in a; great many instances the law was being totally disregarded. The law has been for years especially} explicit as regards boroughs. This disregard of the law subjects the-auditors of the borough, if the corporation is in debt, ot one thousand dollars apiece; it not in debt, of twenty dollars. The omeers ot the school boards havb been equally derelict in their duty, and are liable to a similar fine. ' - > By a law pa...

Whipping Horses Dangerous. \ I would caujtioii those who train horses or use them upon another point, viz: that of exciting the ill will of the animal. Many think they are doing finely and are \jroud of their success in horse training hy means of pevere whipping, or ofherwjse rous\ng or .stimulating the passions apd then from necessity, crhshiog the will through which resistance is prompterf.
