The twelfth annual meeting of the Trans-Mississippi Congress conven ed today with the largest member ship In the histor of the orgnniza tion. Out of twenty-five hundred delegates appointed twelve hun dred were in their seats todny. The session was called to order by President Walter Grcshom of Uslveeton, Texas. The nddrew of 'welcome was delivered by Gov. Gorman of Colorado. Responses were made by Governors Fishback, of Arkansas. Sony, of Oklahoma, and Prince nf New Mexico. One Day of Pleasure and Amusement Hon. Jos. W. Bailey, Hon. Dennis T. Flynn, Judge Henry M. Furman, Hon. Claude Weaver, Judge S. B. Bradford, Hon, A. C. Cruce and other prominent speakers will address the gathering. i& Picnic and Barbecue There will be plenty to eat and drink. $3000.00 will be expended to make the affair a success and everything will be conducted in a metropolitan stylo.
