FARM DAIRY AND HOUSEHOLD GLEANINGS A correpondent writes to the Prairie Farmer I lmvo bad the caro of nn npplo orolmrd for more that forty years and never lost a Bingle apple tree in that length of time from blight Several years ago some of my trees were badly afflicted with said blight Tho work of cutting out tho affected wood was too great for mo conse quently I left tho trees to live or die In ono or two years from that timo no injury could bo seen Since then I have paid no atten tion to it and consider it of minor importance The pear blight is quite different for when it kills tho now wood it does not stop there like the apple tree blight but goes on to the destruction of the tree Some varieties of ap ples are worse affected than oth ers even when they are all mixed through each other I have never known the blight to injuro the vi tality of a tree but it makes it look badly The feeding value of apples is hot large they rankwith Mangels turnips cabbage and the lika Their food pro...
