m If m V il PROF BROWOER DEAD Tlie Able Teaclicr Passes Away at His Home on Thursday Evening Prof Samuel P Browder Superin tendent of the Public Schools of this city died Thursday evening at 9 oclock after an illness of several weeks While it was known that Prof Browder was seriously ill his death was unexpected and tho announcement that his spirit had winged its flight produced universal regret and sadness He had been a sufferer for many years from asthma and early in February was attacked with grippe from which he had been confined to the house On Wed nesday he was feeling so much better that he arose went out and walked about his yard for a short time when he took fvesh cold causing his dis ease to take the form of dropsy producing his death as above stated Prof Biowder was born in 1830 near Middletown in Jefferson coun ty and was raised in Louisville where early in life he commenced the profession of teaching In Septem ber 1808 when the Frankfort Public School was organized he w...
