He did bo and the caif is reported as doing fine ly, though it has neither received hay nor meal since he got it. He cuts the pest and finest hay ha has, about two inches long and pours boiling water over u I ifc Btand mitil cooled to about the heat of milk from the cow, -when the tea is given to the calf and the hay to the cow. Both calf and cow thrive on their feed. We have fed a great deal of hay tea to calves, with good results. j.t.uTai jsew Yorker. ScBAPixa Fecit Trees. Perhaps Oc tober and November are the two best 'months of the year for scrapiDg and washing fruit trees apples and pears. In the senate, J une 1st, a resolution of the national agricultural convention, re cently in session at Atlanta, Georgia, in favor of an appropriation for increased "water com mnnication from the interior to the seaboard, was referred. . . . A bill was paeged, granting a pension of $50 per month to Lonlua A. Canby, widow of General E. It. 8. Canby. . . .The com mittee on patents reported favorably on the niu 10 amend tne laws relating to patents, trade marks and copyrights, and it passed.
