After it became impossible for Cotton Gnnn to plav with the Indians MeMurry lost a game or .so because of impotent locoiving. However they say Martin is doing the job ii) in brown. llight now the Hrave.s are testing in third place. Hut if they can win the next one from ACO and come out okay is the rest of the games there is an excellent chance for a second place finish. The two top clubs are due to meet in a play-off for the championship. In such event the Indians ought to Knock in the chesty llaiilin-Sunmons Cowboys. Incidentally llardin-Simmons is the school from which Hulldog Turner laid out eight week and then went back. And of com so he'll he eligible. Friday May 5 1939 THE McMURRY WAR WHOOP Page Three The Arrow Head By Howard Green "We missed your smiling face ns the Indinns. again bit the dust." Cotton Gann was back from the Apaches you should be next. "Surely it couldn't be that the 'bleat' alwut Bulldog Turner comes from 'old Murphy' college where runs the school the coach and what have you and raises h and yes you guessed it is still eligible." I received the above epistle in the morning mail a few days ago. It was written by some wiseacre presum- ably a Hardin-Simmons student who didn't have enough fortitude to sign his name. It all arose over my writing in last week's issue of the War Whoop that Bulldog Turner will be eligible for foot- ball next autumn after missing eight weeks of school. The name of the McMurry student whom the "smart- aleck" mentioned on the postal card was omitted for various reasons. One of them is that he "busted" out of school at mid-term and is no longer with us. Another is our respect for him. Befo...

Friday May 19 1939 The Arrow Head The senior cliihs could have conceived no better nor more appropriate gift than a concrete tennis comt. When it is completed the recreation facilities of the reseiva- tion will lmvc certainly been improved. Incidentally the senior classes of McMurry as a rule have a habit of presenting Rifts to McMurry which will endure the sands of time. Last year one of the most mod- em press boxes in the Texas confoienco was constiucled by Ih seniois. One down-town spoits writer jokinplv remarked that he couldn't watch the Indians' jmiiics in the lall of '37 for ndminng the nrcliiiecliiio of the pi ess box. And the loser vation was lepiescnlod by some pietly fair jrnddeis that nu lu nin. The senior jrilt this year can re ally mean somethinn to McMurry Next lall our nettors can come back and have adequate comt since on which to practice. The old r.ir that somebody else is usiiir the cement won't woik any more. It was a shame the lacketers didn't do bettei this yea...
