LAND BOARD SITTINGS. [Newspaper Article] — The Independent — 25 October 1901

LAND BOARD SITTINGS. We hear very strong comments made by parties at- ending the Land Board about the delay in opening ut the ap pointed, hour. / For ins'anoe during the sittings of the Court . they will adjourn overnight till 10 a m. of the following day, and ' instead of commencing at that time it is very often' nearer 11 a.m. before they beiin. The* same ab sence of . punctuality ib noticeable with regard to the afternoon sittings, the Bosrd being frequently half an hour be hind the time arranged. We had oc casionsometime ago tocall Httentioo to the tardy sittings of the Police Court and we re^ri-t that we should now h»ve to refer to the same thing in connection with the Land Board. We think that judicial fuuetionaries should have more consideration for the fact thit the public have their business occupations to' follow just tha 6ame as they themselves.
