You notice that oave ? Yes Oorlett'e Cape. we call its, and a bad p ace it used to be You notice the lighthouse that stands there? Yea. Well, I lived by that headland long before the lighthoose was built, a matter of nearly fifty years ago. I hate that same Corletse Cape, though I never heard tell of mare then one wreck. It hap paned after the lighthouse was built, but the lights were put out, and put out on purpose, too. It's well nigh forty years since, but I remember it as it it were but yesterday. There was then a little bit of a settlement down near the month of the creek, whih, yon may have noticed, empties into the river just abovethecape. There weren'tmanypeoplelived there, and the biggest an...

THE WOLVES. EDEN PHILLPOTTS, IN 'LONGMAN'S MAGAZINE. [Newspaper Article] — Oakleigh Leader — 20 October 1888

.THE WOLVES. EDEN PIIILLPOTTS, IN ' LONGfAN'S MAGAZINE. Five abort minutes later the wolves arrive upon the spot where th. snow. Is trampled and Skien's footmarks cease. Now. they are raoinog, for the sledge shows up black and clear against the snow, little more than a mile ahead. The months of the wolves are open, the hair upon their bachk Is beginning to stiffen and stand on end, tholer phosphorescent eyes are fixed upon the flying sledge.
