It is hoped that it will only be a short while before the lot changes hands. Several new Victorians were the purchasers. Death. — William Rodgers. Most of our readers will be pained to hear of the death which occurred at Went worth Falls on 8th inst. of William Rodgers, of Wentworth Falls, formerly of The Rock, locomo tive fireman. He was stationed as fireman on the Lockhart line for about twD years, during which time he proved himself a worthy citizen, made many freinds, and, .it may be mentioned, was one of- the first to start and take an active part in the formation of The Rock Literary and Debating Club. Deceased was not feeling too well wuen he left here upon a health trip, but, alas, that grini monster, consumption, had too great a hold on him, and he fell a victim to it after many months of suffering. All that was possible to be done was done...

Public Opinion. To the Editor. [Newspaper Article] — The Lockhart Review and Oaklands Advertiser — 21 March 1911

Public Opinion. To the Editor. Sir, — Whatever ' Quondoug ' meant to say regarding Cr Day, he has failed to show that he is not fully in accord with the remarks made by ' Motor Bike,' thus — where I dis agree with ' Motor Bike js in his re marks concerning Cr Day. The coun cil never had a betfer president and A riding and the shire generally never had a better representative, than that same gentleman. ' Moto Bike,' makes no statement to the contrary, but 'Quondong's' letter makes two statements which goes to show that he has not got a high opinion of the councillor named or the ^U_moTO3iRrj!_oLthp_canneil. After ex- , ~- - t.ude given to the shire cTerfcfaf trre ' - banquet, he proceeds to say — ' I think he (shire clerk) was fortunafe in hav ing the councillors he had last year to allow him so much rope. For his own fake, I hope the young colts will will help him to take a pull. Is this not absoltpe admission that the old council was weak beyond recall and that ' Quongdong's ' only...
