DTK Meefjra Delta Tau Kappa, the international social science honor society, will hold a regular meeting on May 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the T.V. Lounge. The Alpha chapter will utilize the meeting to finalize the plans for the Open Forum during the first week of June. Provost Robert E. McDermott will be featured in the forum. The group will also discuss plans and activities which DTK will sponsor during the 1972-73 academic year. Many speakers, forums, and cultural and educational events are in the works for the coming year. The honor society also plans to continue its student advising program which it established during fall orientation last year. Last Thursday, DTK sponsored a seminar on "Careers in Mental Health", featuring are people working in the field of mental health rehabilitation. SmifinFaces Our "Born Loser" award goes to our own Steve Wesley. It is being awarded to him for an incident which occured last spring and has just been published in his recent autobiography. It seems that after the loss of last year's SGA election, Mr. Wesley was bitten in the rectum by a wild dog. Mr. Wesley was then arrested for cruelity to animals. Capitol Loses Tough one Baseball The Capitol Campus Baseball Club lost a tough one to Spring Garden College last Wednesday. Though Capitol outhit its opponent seven to five, they still lost 5-2. It was a rough loss for Capitol who was coming off a 6-2 victory over Lebanon Valley College. Steve Rosenzweig, getting the starting nod after his brilliant relief stint last week, pitched well enough to win most games. He struck out eight batters and walked only two. But, two of the five hits he gave up were homeruns, one each by Link and Fredericks of Spring Garden. Both were hit with a man on base. The only other run scored by S.G. was in the seventh on a sacrifice fly. Capitol didn't score until the fifth inning when Rosenzweig hit a solo HR. They added another in the sixth when Andy Oronzi singled and later came around to score on a bad throw. Capitol seemed to be rallying that inning, but S.G.'s relief pitcher quieted their rally. Varsity Tennis Sweeps Skuylkill by Mike Collins Capitol Campus' Varsity Tennis Team had its most decisive victory on Thursday, May 18, by sweeping the Skuylkill-Haven Campus of Perm State, 9 to 2. The match was the most impressive tennis playing by the varsity team this season. The match had already been won after the first five singles had been played. Recently the team has had troubles in tasting victory but Thursday it got it all together and played good tennis. The team has one match remaining with Delaware Campus of PSU. It is a home match and will be played Wednesday at 2:00, so come out and see some real tennis being played.
