Beat light % cup shortening and 2 cups ol sugar , add 4 eggs , 1 teuspoonful ol grated nutmeg , cinnamon , allspice , cloves , soda , salt , then add 2 cups of bread sponge , 1 cup of flour , stir until well mixed , let raise 20 minutes , buke slowly . —Mrs .
