A larsc shipment of five hundred head were forwarded on the 29th ot June. il-The Xew York Tribune is discussing upon the brain, and propounds a number of vague conundrums as to the true scat ot mentality. Our visit to Genoa wns a short one but full of pleasure. Soon after our ar rival our party hired a carriage and pro ceeded on a tour of observation and dis covery. Genoa contains several palaces (palazzos is the mode of spelling the word in Italian). Tbey say when you have seen one yon have seen them all. We visited tho Palazzo Brignole Sale. Its paintings are said to be of considera ble merit. Among them were master pieces of Van Dyck. Wo also visited threo churches, among tbem the-Duomo, or cathedral church of S.Lorenzo. The latter dates from the eleventh century. Two urns of silver-gilt, said to contain the ashes of St. John the Baptist, were Shown us by a priest.
