HORRORS OF COLD TYPE. Tearfully nnd Wonderfully-Contrived Typographical Hulls. It h:vs boon rouir.rkoil thnt "to err is human." If that be so, says the Chi cno 'Jimc, the humanity that clings about the compositor must bo beyond all computation. The errors of that frnil piece 6f humanity are fearfully and wonderfully contrived. That he has to combat many difficulties no one can doubt; th:it he takes at times an awful revenge every 0110 knows. How often has the gifted writer dashed off a stirring article, which, with a smile, is handed to the compositor to be put in to the obediont types that give it a million voices? and, by glancing at his paper next morning, the author discov ers that his name is "Dennis" and that he hasn't any other. Ah, yes; how often? But the strange, sad thing about tho errors is, and this may appear para Joxical, they are always funny. They .may knock the legs from under a pro duction that would creato a sensation in the political world; they may chango ont re...
