LOCAL EVENIS OF THE WEEK TOGETHER WITH A PERSONAL MENTION OP THOSE IN THE riOVINQ PANORAHA OP LOCAL HISTORY Mr. Bismarck Scholl and bride visited the city Monday, driving across country from their home in Washtucna. where he is in charge of one of the large grain warehouses, representing a grain buying company as agent at that prosperous point. The Scholl family formerly re sided in this county, and twenty-one years ago owned and lived upon what is now known as the T. Bent Smith place, eight miles east of town, on Cow creek. Mr. Scholl remarked the wonderful growth of Ritzville and the marvelous change in this immediate section from a wild, unsettled region to a prosperous farming country, all within a few years. Mr. and Mrs. Scholl returned to their! home Tuesday evening. A petition for the pardon of Frank Cario was circulated in the city Tues by James Finley, an attorney in appeal on the case. Carrico, first assessor of Adams county, back in territorial days, in 1884, was a Saturday caller.
