Editorial [Newspaper Article] — Eagle Rock Advertiser — 9 March 1933

Editorial BANK HOLIDAY AND RESTORED CONFIDENCE Undoubtedly the greatest thing that has been gained by the bank holidays is the restoration of public confidence—both In the financial soundness of the nation and 4n the, present and future. —LINT— By J G. R. The New Deal Faith Hope and Charity and the forgotten man. Mark of Friendship “Sure, pal. your check is good." We may not be off the gold standard, but the gold standard Is off us.. • The firm that sent bill collecttors out last Friday surely must 'have taken on a load of optimism. 1 I Anyway, some pretty deep footprints are being left on the sands |of time, that some “forlorn and shipvreaked brother" is going to - see some day. and maybe turn greyheaded too. «* ■ ■■ A small voice whispers Perhaps the “forgotten man" might toe the'inner—man. They used to say :o cheer up the domestic gals, “The way to a man's heart is through his stomach". That snappy thought might do for advice to Mr. Fix—it of today. EAGLE SOCK HEALTH CENTER By Dr. D. J. Oibon CHIROPRACTOR 2870 Oolorado BlTd. CL 62598 [Newspaper Article] — Eagle Rock Advertiser — 9 March 1933

EAGLE SOCK HEALTH CENTER By Dr. D. J. Oibon CHIROPRACTOR 2870 Oolorado BlTd. CL 62598 SPRAIN QUESTION— About two months «go l suffered a severe-sprain of the left ankle which fcks since given me much discomfort. I have used Unaments and various forms of heat but cannot get any permanent 1 relief. What would you recommend I for this condition? ANSWER—The ligaments of the articulation have probably been torn or at least strained and there may ' also be some injury to the artlc--1 ular capsule. Diathermy directly through the part will give immediate relief. One or more of the bones entering into the formation of the joint may also be displaced and manipulations would be necessary'to put them back in the proper position. Three to six treatments are usually necessary to entirely correct a condition of this kind. NOTE—Dr. Olson wHi gladly answer any health question. Send a stamped, addressed envelope- •In some cases he will answer through this column. Watch it weekly.

FARM€FIS ' CORN€Pi [Newspaper Article] — Eagle Rock Advertiser — 9 March 1933

FARM€FIS ' CORN€Pi 1 Sec-Agricultural Legislative . ' Committee q California Rigid economy to meet the need of the taxpayers. A highly-geared program of de partmental efficiency to maintaii all essential services under a duced budget. A strict policy of business-like protection and assistance for the farmer —free from politics! Such, in effect, is the plan of administration mapped by A. A. Brock, newly-named director of the state department of agriculture. The director served notice of his “new deal,” not by an elaborate statement of what he proposed to do, but by doing it. One of his first steps was to recommend a heavy cut in his own salary, setting the pace for economy in the department as a whole. In quick sucesslon he vacated several positions which he had catalogued as nonessential, and assumed, personally, the duties of chief of the division of plant industry. *if the new agricultural director ‘’carries on” as he has started, both taxpayers and farmers will have cause to expr...
