Mr. Bon Durañt, President of the Consolidated Secutfty Company of New Tprk and London, and Howard B. Cox of Staton, were in Lame Thursday on important railroad bus- iness. At a meeting of the citizens of Dawson county Mr. Bon Durant accepted a proposition from Lamesa of $37,500 and assumed the refpon- sponsibilities of the Panhandle Short Line. The railroad known as the West Texas & Northern, is to be built from Stanton to Lamesa in seven months and to some northern connection within two years. It is now time to get busy and raise the extra bonus of $12,500 for this road and get it. It is the concensus of opinion that the bonus will be raised in the next two days. Messrs Crow- ley, Curiee, Whitley and Holloway compose the committee on solicita- tion. Hunt them up and subscribe to the road, which is an absolute ne- cessity.—Dawson County News.
