Although not one of thoBc who forwarded answers, I must certainly dissent from the answer given and the method of obtaining it as published in Wednesday's issue. In the first plnce I maintain that the answer as given is not correct, and one which no examiner would pass as such. As the /inswer (1) now stands (supposing the m i KtM'should come after tho 1 mile instead of before it) the sum is incomplete, for the . subtracting has still to be accomplished t In the second place the directions given for 'Working the sum are in Uio main incorrect. They say, ' Instead of borrowing 1 perch, 2 should have been borrowed, and a timilar method carried out to the. end of the turn, which results in having 1 mile over, thus - making the answer as given above.'
