Irish National Night. [Newspaper Article] — Port Fairy Gazette — 19 March 1914

,- "?" r -- . :'.d. ;, .. Irish National Night. The Port -Fairy branch of 'the C.Y.M.S. held a big celebration; in the lecture hall on St. Patrick's night, in commemoration of the festival, .and if enthusiasm and numbers may be considered a demonstration of success, then the gathering must: be regarded as one of the most successful of its kind ever inaugurated here. The entertainment took the form of a banquet; with a comprehensive toast list, interspersed with music and, recitations,, and was followed by a dance. The hall had been gaily arrayed, in green, and the banquet tables were arranged in a large E, and occupied the whole of the floor space. On the tables were ,displayed every variety of dainty food and beverage to tempt the appetite, and the floral arrange ment were charming, green and scarlet being the chief colors em ployed.
