Smuggling Jewellery., On Thursday lost (says the 8. A. Register) some littlo excitement was caused by the report that on the previous day £700 worth of smuggled jewellery bad been seized in the Adelaide Exhibition. It proved.true, and it appears that Mr. Wadlow, one of the Customs officers, was superintending the un packing' of a case in the German Court, of which Mr. Katzonstien is the presiding : genius, when his suspicions being aroused, 'lie reported the matter to Mr. A. Searcy, who took measures which resulted in the jdiscovery and seizure of a quantity of jewel lery. ;> ;,The!jewellery was in three parcels.

Last Monday evening Mrs. Catherine Dunlop, who was tried, in Goulburn at the late Circuit Court for the murder of her husband at Kitty's Creek, near Yass, was married to a man named Patrick Nash.- The jury, it will be remembered, disagreed, and 'she was admitted -to bail to appear when called upon. < Her'sureties on learning that she had entered the bonds of matrimony, at once gave her into custody, rind she'was brought before Mr. Yates, P.M., on Tuesday, when, the sureties were released. -Fresh bail being proposed by Mr.-., Wilkinson,1 who appeared for the prisoner, the'police magis trate refused to give any decisionuntil sub .inspector Brennan, who ; was, absent from '?Yass, had roturned, to, town.: .
