BEDWATEB. A REPORTED CURE. Tho attention of the Under-Secretary for Agriculture and Stock was drawn to a Beonleigh communication, recom mending bleeding as a cure for red water (says the 'Courier' of July 8). Mr Serlven said the opinion of the Go vernment Veterinary was that bleed lng. iii tlje 'treatment of redwater, will do more liann than good, for the rea Bon that it reduces the strength of the animal when Uio Htrenslli is most wanted. Dlpjiing and inoculation as preventives are the only stand-bys. If there Is a veterinary surgeon handy oi course curative ti-eattnciit may be adopted: Tlie cold weather during tlio last few weeks has caused the ticks to lose a deal of their virulence, and consequently it is not surprising that some of the so-called cures for red water have met with fair success. It is reported that of 24 cows bled at Heaudesert only four were lost ; but of 40 cows treated by the owner at Morn inRbide all recovered. The department, have issued a simple rei.icdy pre...
