On the 17th Augnst a very enjoy able social was given'in the Lower Moira State School by the many friends of Mrs Carr, the school teacher who had been there for seven years, and is Jeaving to take charge of the" Laen School. The following ladies and gentle men took part in the programme.— The Misses Evans, Male, E. Harding, Maloney, L Schier, James (2), A Schier, R. Carr, G. Carr, R. Schier, Vroland, McKinnis, M. Carr, and Messrs W. C. Schier, Scott, C. Hard: ing, Evans, J. Harding, Len. Quinn, school children, and Mrs Carr. Mr. Maloney then presented Mrs Carr with a well filled purse of sov ereigns and spoke feelingly of the great assistance Mrs Carr had always so willingly given to concerts and en tertainments for many miles around.
