HB ftttSVOR* ItUD J 9n Trtf to the Panhandle. The Editor and J. P. EekUdaen took a trip to the Panhandle of Tes- at and return. We left here October 1st by way of Mason City going from thefO to Kanaa^ City over the Iowa Central and Wabash and then over the Santa Fe to Portales, New Mex- ico. The trip to Kansas City was with- out any event worthy of notice, ex- cept that the train lost time all the way and arrived about three hours late. The rush of home and land- seeders to the southwest was so great on this occasion that all roads lead- ing to that section had to run from four to six sections out of Kansas City to handle the crowds. The balance of the trip, over the Santa Fe was rather wearisome as the company is rebuilding its tracks most of the way, taking out the kinks, reducing the grades and re- placing old bridges with modern steel and cement structures. For a whole day we crawled over soft, un- even tracks at about 10 miles an hour, a heavy rain prevailing all over Kansas, O...

i m BRAND mm mi——■ MAJESTIC BAKING DEMONSTRATION One Week Commencing November 4 **4 i~FO j r Ü We heartily invite sur friends te call any day during the above mentioned week and we will demonstrate the superior qualities of the New Majestic Malleable and Charcoal Iron Ranges The Majestic Malleable and steel range as formerly turned out by the Majestic people has been considered throughout the country as par excellence, and far ahead of any other range made. But with the new charcoal iron body in place of steel, making it double its value, and the fact that is the only range in existence made of Malleable and Charcoal Iron, you can readily see that if quality is considered, the Majestic leads by a big margin. We want you to call at our store during this week, and let us ex- plain this new feature:-Charcoal Iron Bodies; let us explain why it is the best material for range bodies, and incidentally why it is not used on other ranges. We want you to call if you intend to buy or not, as t...

There has never been such activity ia projecting new roads across what Was once called the Great American Desert, but now an inviting field rich in natural resources. No less than 7 new roads 'are pointing their noses into the new country where there are soon to be millions of bush- el* of wheat, tons upon tons of feed stuff, hogs, cattle and sheep without number to be transported. The rail- roád facilities gow already are too meager to afford shipping. The shortage of cars is ever the cry. One man has waited two years to ship his cattle and it seems that he will have to wait another year, or until new roads are built before he can ship his product. One man has had an order in for a hundred cars for cattle for several weeks and gets no satisfaction from the railroad. There are now re- quests for several hundred cars that the railroad company cannot furnish. The cattle shippers...
