MERIBAH Merlbab, February 9.' A social was held in the MeribaJj Institute on Tuesday evening in. honour of A.C.I. Arnold Schubert and Pte. Doug Kretsehmer, a good crowd at i tended. Speeches were made by Mr. I J. Davis and Mr. Ray Sladden. Mr. Davis presented the guests with a wal let each. Mr. F. Curaow and P. Ver ral supplied the music and Mr. glad den was M.C. Mr. N. Flavel acted as doorkeeper. Supper was supplied by the ladies. Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Dart spent a few days in Adelaide.—Mrs. "W. T. Young is home after a few days in the Renmark Hospital.—Mr. Hugh Wellington has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pavy.—Mrs. Williams and little daugh ter have returned from Adelaide.

GLOSSOP £14 from Comforts Fund Dance The Glossop Comforts Fund com mittee was responsible for a very suc cessful dance held at the Glossop Hall on Thursday, February 11. Winkie Honours Air Force Members Winkie residents assembled at the Winkie Hall again on Thursday, February 11, to honour three more young- people of the district, who were home on, leave. The honoured guests were Mrs. Ron Obst (WA.A.A.F.) and Sgt. Pilot Colin DeLaine and L.A.C. Dave McDonald. There was a splendid attendance, and a pleasant evening was spent in dancing. Mr. J. C. Gardiner was M.C. Songs were rendered by Mr. J. Lush, accompanied by Mrs. L. L. Brugeaud. Supper was served. The chairman of the committee (Mr. Gardiner) spoke of the high esteem in which each of the three guests was held, and although they were sorry to lose them from the district they were very proud of all their servicemen and thier W.A.A.A.F. . Mr. Gardiner handed to Mrs. Obst a fountain pen and a pencil from the Winkie folk and half a dozen handkerchiefs from the local Comforts Fund. SOCIAL TENDERED TO GRAETZ FAMILY Loxton, February 16. There was a good attendance in the Loxton Institute on Monday evening- when a social -was tendered to A.C W. Bryce Graetz (W.A.A.A.F.) and her three, brothers of the A.I.F. The evening was spent in community singing conducted by Rev. R. F. Woods with Mr. A. Wutke at the piano. Solo items were given by Miss Leslie Nitschke (piano solo) and Mr. J. Parr (vocal solo}. Mr. A. M. Hilbig (chairman of the committee) spoke, and his remarks were supported by Cr. C- E. M. Tonkin (Lox ton District Council), the Rev. R. F. Woods (Churches). Mr. J. Kingdon on behalf of the Loxton District Soldiers Benefit Fund made the usual presentations to A.C.W. Graetz.
