Keira Colliery Accident Claim. I Mr. Watt and Mr. Tighe, instruct ed by Mr. Cecil A.' Ooghlan and .Co. appeared for the plaintiff in each case, and Mr. Windeyer, instructed by Messrs. McLaehlan and Murray, for the defendants. As the actions arose out of the same circumstances it was agreed that they should be heard together. The plaintiffs, Willi am Henderson and Benjamin Timims, | coalminers, sued defendants to ;re cover compensation for injuries sus tained by them in Mount Keira col liery on July 14- of last year. Mr Watt, in explaining the cases to the jury, said that the men in the colli ery worked in shifts, and plaintiffs had been working on the morning shift and were coming out between 2.30 and 3 o'clock. Methodist Church Anniversary services in. connection -with the Wollongong Methodist Church were held on Sunday last, when there were large congregations. The two now Ministers— Rev. Am' brose Fletcher and Rev.. F. , Dues bury, preached at the morning and evening services respectively. On Wed nesday evening the annual tea ' and. concert eventuated in the School-hall Respite the unpropitious weather conditions, the patronage bestowed at tbe tea was well up to the aver age, while there was an abundant euppl.v of the choicest edibles. At the after meeting, Mr. W. J. Wise man, senr., occupied the chair until the arrival of the Mayor (Alderman Smith), whose duties prevented him j from putting in an appearance u'ntil after the prpgratnme had been com menced.
