COLONIAL AND INTERCOLONIAL. MELBOURNE. MONDAY, July 12. Another bushrangjug affair occurred on Sunday nigbt near Edcnhope, a township situated 800 miles from Mel bourne, in the Wimraera district, and not far from tlie South Australian border. Mr. Hcarne, J.P., and his family were returning- from church iu their carriage, when they were bailed up by armed men. They demanded money, but Mr. Hearne having none with him, they compelled him to write a cheque for £300. One of the party managed to effect his escape, and returned to Eden hopc, where he gave information to the police. A party of constables imme diately set out, and followed the retreat ing bushrangers. After a short chase the robbers were brought to bay, being surrounded in a hut where they had taken refuge. Here the ruffians were captured. One is known at Reilly, the remainder are not yet identified. The following telegrams appeared in oar western edition of Saturday afternoon last: 6T.
