THE RIFLEMAN AND THE SAUSAGES. Tale ot a Dropped Diuuer, Rescued m the Nick ol Time. A screamingly funny incident occurred in Main Street shortly after noon yesterday. A well-known local resident, who is power in the rifl-a club, had purchased several pounds of sausages, and mounied hia bicycle prior to riding home with his par cel. llo had not progressed nuny yards when a shout of laughter from tlia bystanders proclaimed the fact that the parcel'had burst. The sausages descended into the road in a BtJing, and were towed along in the dust for a few yards before the knight of the rifle realised the tragic fata which had overtaken his provender. Then, wiih a woeful ex pression, he dismounted and pro ceeded to gather up his scattered dinner-to.be. He was just in time, too, for the sausages had an exceedingly narrow eBcape Irotn being run over by ft passing butcher's cart 1

NO TICKET At tho Dimboola Court, Constable Madin proceeded against John Wilson for travelling on the railway without a ticket. Mr A. SweMman, atationmaster at Ditnboola, paw defendant in a truck und when asked what ho was doiny, replied that he had got in at Limboola. The station maBter handed Wileon over to the police, who elicited the fact that defendant, who had no money, had got on the train at Setviceton, and intended travelling to Horsham in search of work. Wilson was fined 103 in default distress, and being un ablu to pay the fine, was sentenced to 24i hours' impiisonment.
