England's Naval Strength. Ix the House of Commons on 17th March, Mr. Hunt submitted the Navy estimates, île expressed h¡s pleasure in, being ablo to propose a reduction, amounting to £309,043. The estimates amount to £'10,979,829, but after making all necessary -reductions and transfers of accounts, the actual cost of the navy is £10,385,892. Reviewing the work done during his three years tenure of office, Mr. Hunt stated that fifty-four ships have been laid down, of which thirty have been launched, and six will be launched in the cDurse of 1S77-7S. Of armor3.1: ships the e have-been.built 37,000 tons, and 19,0C0 tons of unarmored, besides training ships and new machinery to the extent, of 92,000 horse power. Going further into details as to the condition of the ships in building, he men tioned that the Inflexible will be ready for trial, this year.
