CHICAGO MARKET . Prairie I * armer Ufhce , June 25 , 1845 . There is scarcely wheat enough in market to keep up a price . The little coming in is eagerly snatched—84 and 85 being paid readily . Never since the settlement of ihe country has the old crop been rhore completely cleaned out . We are asked by farmers frequently what price the new crop will probably bring . It is impossible yet to tell how it will coine in , as the gauntlet wiib the rust is yet to be run ; but should it turn out as well as looked for , we do not expect to see any great , declension in price , . though it Will probably recede somewhat . Our reasons for this opinion are , that unless we are mistaken , there is not a large supply ofthe old crop on hand in any section of country ; besides , people are fattening all the pork they can , which always affects the price of wheat—and emigration is unprecedented ^ active , which will aid the price by decreasing production elsewhere and increasing consumption here .
