Efbm-ife DopVtmeilt of Agriculture we areln receipt or an advanced summary of the latest information in reference to the wages of farm labor in the United States , from which we glean some interesting statistics of general interest . Thirty years ato the averse pay of farm laborers in the tfnited States was estimated at $ 9 per Son * , including board . In 1866 the average was $ 26 , inclusive of board , which was estfmated at about $ 9 . 50 per month . The fact is also exhibited that , although the prices of agricultural , aud nearly all other products have materially declined during the last three years , the rate of wages has not been greatly red & ced , and...

I ¦ ¦»• ¦ ! ^ ^ ^ gHWWWW >» The Lost Steamer . There is a greater liking in the human breast for eating than being eaten , and so the general tendency , on purely prudential grounds , has been against the adoption of the Sandwich Islands as a place of popular resort . People will nourish these little prejudices , and as there are those who would grumble even were they to be shaved by a Ficnch guillotine , at public expense , we desist from unseemly criticism . But , since Captain Cook was broiled and eaten , times and customs have changed , and now there is little danger , in the farof...
