"We Lave just one of the snuggest little counties in. the Territory. Our relative position is indeed desirable and fortunate. Geographically we hold a central location in our Territory an J include within our lines the iertile lands of a large section of the broad Gila Valley; the productive portions at the mouth of the San Pedro and the west bank of the San Carlos; rich rninH eral deposits are found in every direc tion. The late developments in the Pioneer and Globe Districts display a quality of ore that is not equalled on the Pacific slope and we believe not in the world. DEVKXtBBlt 7, 1S77. tretclngr Comfortable As we gently cast this north eye of ours down the vista of the hist decide or two of yeare, and recall the priva ;toH3 and adventures of the pioneer, we can safely say that times in Arizo eh are getting comfortable It is less than a dozen years ago that the farmer was compelled to buckle on his six-shooter, strap his rifle to his plow and be always on the alert for the hostile Indians. Prospectors were only safe in certain localities and there only in large parties. But a cha...
