SB XTaB'TW T7XAC aCXXTST. Wednesday, January 23, 1884. The Southern Minnesota Poultry Association will give their first ex hibition at Rommel's hall, Roch ester, Feb. 19, 20, abd 21. Sergeant Mason has overcome his objections to exhibiting himself in public He has signed a contract to show himself in a museum at for two hundred dollars a week. He is now in companionship of the skele ton, the Caucassian girl and the three card monte men. The number of immigrants land ed at Castle Gaiden during the year just closed was 388,342, against 454,747 in 1882a decrease of 55,- 405 or more than 14 per cent. In 1882 about 60 per cent, of the whole number of immigrants landed at Castle Garden Assuming that the proportion was the same last year, the whole number of arrivals may be estimated at about 640,000. After several futile attempts to come to some agreement with the Northwestern Car and Manufac turing Co., the State authorities have concluded to rebuild that portion of the recently destroye...
