I have the pleasure to announce to the people of St. Mai'tinville, and St. Martin parish, that I have just arrived from New Orleans with a big stock of Fine and Nice Goods, which were open° ed in my magnificent new store, in which I moved yesterday. Orange Blossoms. Monday evening, the 23 inst., Mr. Paul MJarnist. son of Mr. Au gusto Maraist and Miss Ernestine Vienair, both of this parish, were united in marriage at the Catholic Church by Rev. Father Langlois. After the marriage ceremony the young couple proceeded to the plantation of the groom's parents, where they will make their future home. The MESSENGER thanks Mr. and Mrs. Maraist for the delicious piece of the wedding cake sent to this office, and wish that their married life will be long, happy and prosperous. A New Fire Company. Sunday last the Favorite Brass Band, colmposed of vyoung colored men, met at their hall for the pur pose of organizing a lire company with the members of the band.
