The Recent Hospital Ball. A meeting of the committee to wind up | matters in connection with the recent I Hospital Ball at Bowral was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon, the chair being occupied by Mr. Gavin George (President). Mr. C. W. Marsden (hon. treasurer) read his balance-sheet, showing a nett profit of £v$ (which with the Government subsidy would be increased to £46), which was adopted and ordered to be printed. ' A number of accounts were passed for payment. On the-motion of Mr..-Marsden^ special1 votes of thanks were passed''to': the''hon. secretaries (Misses Scott-Reed and Maude Corry), the committee, and the various donors. Municipal Vacancy Filled. Only one nomination was recorded up to Monday last for the vacancy in the Bowral council caused by the resignation of Aid. Kyngdon—that of Mr. Joshua Stokes, who has therefore been elected. Aid. Stokes is not new to the duties upon which he has entered, having previously filled the position of alderman of the Bowral council for a number of years, the Mayoral duties devolving upon him for a term. Aid. Stokes may be relied upon to act conscientiously in the in terests of the town.
