FEDERAL ISSUES. THE SENATE CANDIDATES. [Newspaper Article] — Kyneton Guardian — 2 April 1914

FEDERAL ISSUES. THE SENATE CANDIDATES. The selection of six candidates who ave to contest -Victoria's-Senate seats in the Liberal interest, should a double dissolution be secured, vs a matter of exceptional importance ana interest. To say that the .political feeling of the State is grossly misre presented in. the Senate, is to ^ repeat a familiar truism. In 1010 and again in 1913 Senate votes were pretty " equally divided between those who ran as avowed Liberals and.as ed Labor candidates respectively. Uearly that should be put right. - , ]f victory, is to be secured^ at the polls, there must be a "ticket' whicn every Liberal will loyally support. When a whole State forms an elec torate, the ordinary elector must take most of his candidates on trust. Ami, as regards this pre-election, there is time neither for touring the State nor for the pourin...
