The Establishment of the Commonwealth. [Newspaper Article] — The Charleville Times — 19 January 1901

The Establishment of the Common wealth. . [Br IJEV. R. RYTOK, M.A.J THE creation of a new Nation is au event in the history of the world ot so remarkable & character that it is. only u matrerof .wonder that it should not have attracted more attention than has actually been the case. Had it uot been for the com peting claims of the South African war and for the -denouement of China it is not too much to say that the literature on the subject would be much larger in extent than is actually the case. If I venture to put down the thoughts of a new comer on so great a question it is uot from any consciousness of general fitness but only from a desire to meet the wishes of a friend. The establishment of the Com monwealth must strike any thoughtful student of history as a great and most encouraging sign of the times. It is a revelation of that secret growth of a sense of brotherhood-of the'sense'that man needs man and that the true welfare of one is the wel&re of all-which ...
