A severe engagement was fought at Mil ford Station, tbe rebels being defeated, with beavy loss in killed, woanded and prisoners. They also left behind them large quantity of new clothing, which bad jost been received. Daring this fight, the rebels made sev- s eral f.erce assaults upon tbe negro troops, tot were repulsed with heavy loss. Grant's flank movement is successful. and Lee has been forced from bis strong bold at Spottsylvania. He retreated across North Anna River in great disor der. His army is in fall retreat for Rich mond, with oar forces in hot pursuit Oar army is already across Sonth Anna River, having driven back the rebel forces stationed there to oppose them.
