it n GLEANINGS Tho Agriculturalist thus explains cribbing Horses that are in tbo habit of taking hold oE something and making a peculiar Bound at the same time are called cribbors In the act of cribbing the edge of the teeth are worn or broken off and if wo watch n cribber closely we may see a bolus of air passing down his throat arching his neck at the same time Crib biters are generally subject to colic and aire unsound Cribbing nmy bo due to imitation that is if a horse stands near a cribber ho may learn to do it It may also be due to restlessness a horse standing in a stall a long while and wanting something to do may contract the habit It is also said to bo hered itary To cure cribbers put them in a loose box where they can not get hold of anything or use muzzles Placing a strap around the neck will prevent a horse from cribbing but this may cause a malformatiou of the neck and trachea so that on the whole the the loose box is generally the best made of treatment There is too m...
