Kiwanis Club to sponsor charity rodeo Lome Green, patriarchal rancher “Ben Cartwright” on the televbion series “Bonanza,” will appear as the guest staJ at the fund rabing drive of the Valley-Portal Kiwanis Club Charity Rodeo Saturday, June 27 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at 8 pan. More than 200 nationally known cowboys will ride and topple from the toughest brones and bulls in the world at the event being sponsored to support a summer camp for diabetic children. Local boys may compete for academy Congressman George E. Brown, Jr, announced thb week that he b inviting high school boys in the 29th Congressional District to compete for nomination to the Army. Air Force and Naval Academy in 1965. Brown said that he will be responsible for filling vacancies at all three academies West Point (Army), Annapolis (Navy), and Colorado Springs (Air Force), ning in July, 1965. Lorraine Clark named LACC 'Uni Curie* Mbs Lorraine Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Clark of 3424 Farnsworth Ave., was recently named Mbs Uni Cutie at Los Angeles City College where she won out over nine other coeds. Miss Clark earned the title of Miss Uni Cutb by collecting the most money on campus for the University Religious Coun- cil't University Camp for underprivileged children. Miss Clark was crowned at the college’s annual Uni Camp Carnival by television star Don Grady of the My Three Sons serta. file LACC coed, who was sponsored by the Women’s Athletlc Association in the contest, also reigned at the annual event. Prior to the carnival, sponsors of the contestants constructed booths where members of the various organizations carried official containers used for soliciting votes for their candidates.
