Bronham Banner; Mr. Ellis one Of the lessees of the penitentiary has about 110 convicts employed on two plantations near Walker's station in Fort Bend county ; the two contain about 2300 acres of the best quality of alluvial landF and produce so well that the lessees average about $120 for each con- vict hand clear of all expenses. About BOO acres is cultivated in cane 8C0 in corn and 1000 in cotton.
