m From what the farmers of the Hereford country a e eayinf and doing, the Brand concludes that there will be about five times as much wiieat put in for next year as was harvested this year. Some far- mers who have never had any w&eat are preparing to sow, some ss much as 500 acres. Good seed wheat is in demand and the hard- ware merchants are doing a good business in selling drills and other farm implements. The success of the last crop under unfavorable con- ditions has given great encourage- ment to the farmers and they are going to test the matter with a big- ger crop than ever. This bring to mind the advertisement which may be found in another column concern- ing the offer of Campbell's Soil Cul- ture book, which the Brand is offer- ing with subscriptions. The book tells how to prepare the soil for suc- cessful wheat culture and to culti- vate the wheat after it begins to grow. Every farmer should secure one of the books—they sell for SO cents.
