JUSTICES' JUSTICE. TO THE EDITOR OF THE INDEPENDENT. [Newspaper Article] — Independent — 1 March 1884

S JUSTICES' JUSTICE TO TTli T DITOR OF TitE INDErtENDET. SiR,-I amalways averse to running into newspaper correspondence, and would never ventetate a grieance of my own in that manner, but I have been instructed to call attention to what must be an error of judgement on the part of the police authorities in Footscray. On Monday last three boys were defended by Mr. W. R. Roberts and myself against a charge of robbery from a dwelling at Bray brook. I anm informed that contrary to the Magistrates expressed...

TO BORE A SQUARE HOLE WITH A CENTRE.BIT. STO THl EDITOR OF THE INDE'ENDENT. SiR,-"J. B.," in answer to "Where does the inch go?" furnishes your readers with the seemingly imposibility -to " bore a square hole with a centre-bit." Take two pieces of wood, say, half-inch thick, put them together, bore a hole in the centre of the -joint, and then reverse them will give a square hole . Another seemingly impossibility is to dovetail two pieces of wood to form a T square, showing a dovetail on the blade and sides.-Yours, &c, S . . 'w. P. Burlington street, North Shore, Sydney.
