Shipping and Commercial Intelligence, Arrived at Hobart-town, May 12. The cutter Speedwell, 18 tons, James Corlette master, from Launceston 23rd of March, with 54 packages of tea, which were landed at George-town. The vessel then proceeded to Preservation island and took on board 315 seal skins and 108 kangaroo ditto. On coming up the     Derwent she took on board from the wreck of the Hope 5 casks Sydney made spirits, a case of wine, 18 planks cedar, some pine boards, a pump, anchor, & a quantity of cordage. May 16. The brig Cyprus, from Macquarie harbour, with timber, 9 soldiers relieved at the settlement and 9   prisoners and a boat. MUCH inconvenience having arisen both to the Public Service and the Settlers, from neg- lect, of the Government Notice of the 25th May, 1826. The Lieutenant Governor has desired it should be intimated that in future no applications for Servants will be attended to, unless they contain a reference to some respectable resident in Hobart-town, who will receive the men or women on the day of their assignment, pay for their stops, and forward them without delay to the place of their destination. BY the Government Notice of the 30th Sep- tember 1826, the sum of thirty shillings is'fixed as the price ofa suit of slop clothing, which is thereby directed to be delivered to a prisoner upon his assignment to a Settler.
