THE WAR. AMERICJt_V. SPAIN. POSITION OF THE SPANIARDS. London, Tuesday.— Commodore W. S. Schley, who is in command of the squadron sent to ascertain thn where abouts of Admiral Cervera; reports to the American Government that behon. recognised the vessels of the Spanish fleet at anchor in the bay at Santiago de-Cuba. Mr. John D. Long, Secretary of the United States Navy, does not confirm but does not deny the r9fx-rt that Commodore Scbley has succeeded in sighting three of the vessels of Admiral Cervera's pquadron at Santiago The impression is that four of the Spanish warships were in a disabled condition, and that the American squadron prevented them from effect ing repiir* in time to escape from Santiago harbor.

SANTIAGO AGAIN BOM BARDED. AID FROM THE INSURGENTS. London, ' Friday.— The New York ' World 'states' that thn bombard ment of the bo'teV forts at Santiago de Cuba, was renewed on Thursday by tha squadrons under Real- Admiral Sampson and' Commodore Schley. A simultaneous amault was ma'e upon the town of Santiago by a force of 3000 insurgents.
