The annual meeting of the Towns ville Chamber of Commerce 1b to be held thlB afternoon, when, amongst other business, the election of officers will take place. Carroll's Great Changed Hands Sale is not alone the talk 6f the, town, but of the whole country. TPleased crowds congregate at this store every day, ask any one of those who 1»ftv» been, wh»t sort of bargains aro to bo had there. We don't believe there Is a dissatis fied one In the whole lot. It costs nothing to look. Go and see how this store can cut Its prices. It's a sale that smashes prices Into smithereens, 'but quality remains the same. . . . That Is uninjured. It's a sale that cannot bo on at this rate much longer. Those who go to tho sale right away will bo glad, and thoso who go late will bo sorry. Carroll's, tho store of little prices.— (Advt.)

ENTERTAINMENTS. HERBERT FLEMMING DRAMATIC COMPANY. 'DR. WAKE'S PATIENT.' It was unfortunate for the Herbert Flemmlng Dramatic Company that their visit to Townsville followed so closely on the carnival season with Its surfeit of amusements. On their merits the combination lias had 110U1 Ing to equal it since the late R. Brough's company many years ago played a season in Townsville, and from an artistic standpoint there Is a striking similarity In the class of plays produced. Ord's four act drama 'Dr. Wake's Patient,' in which merriment is so cleverly inter laced with honest, manly, rurr.l senti ment, that the moral ' Is forcibly brought home to the audience.
