MORUYA. Last week did not close without manifesting another of the sad circumstances to which it appears this colony is heir to. For months past this and neighbouring districts have been visited by a rapid succession of floods, —not of a medium character either, but raging impetuous inundations, carrying away bridges, tearing up roads, washing away rich alluvial soil, and in our own district, lamentably destructive of human life and the greatest portion of the farmer's reliance, his crops; Since March 23rd the Monty a river nas never been clear of a fresh. Last week the fifth flood set m The rain commenced on the Monday with a slight drizzle, it increased in intensity during the week until Friday morning when it abated a little but recommenced with morefury on the evening, and was attended with violent winds. Monday's rain ushered in the fifth flood we have had since the 23rd of March last. On the Wednesday the Moruya river had risen most unaccountably. There had been but a thin lig...

WINDSOR. The flood in thistjlistrict is said to be by far the highest which has oc- * curred since its settlement by the Europeans. . The town of Windsor itself is almost entirely submerged, and the country for miles.around is under water. The only parts of the township now habitable are a portion of George street, Fairfield (the residence, of the Rev. 0. F. Garnsey). Hopkins HiU (the residence of Mr. W. Walker, M.L.A.), M'Quade'a corner, and the ground on which stands the Roman Catholiov churoh.
