ASTONISHING ACCIDENT IN TUNNEL. Paris, Wednesday. An astonishing accident occurred in Murnay tunnel, on the Swt*u frontier. A goods train was com pelled to stop and shortly after an other train collide^ slightly with the rear portion. An examination of the first train showed that the whole of the crew of seven men had been suffocated owing to lack of ventila tion in the tunnel.

Larcombe, has announced that the recently-former Dairying and Agri culture Advisory Board had! recom mended that the reduction of 20 per cent. In freights conceded in the case of cattle and pigs should be extended for the present to cream also. The Cabinet has approved of the request anj the concession would operate from June 5th.

The only information available at present is a cable from New Zealand received in Sydney by Messrs. He said the .consequences of the Collins-de Valera agreement were very serious, and it seemej probable that the Irish peo ple will not be able to give a free ex pression of their views. If de Valera, or any other Minister, refused to siga the declaration presented in the Treaty it would break the Treaty, and the Imperial Government re served liberty of action.
