Merinos 9/- to 18/- aocording to quality. SFDNET, June 2t. Griffiths & Weaver report 1200 cattle yarded; 800 carcasses for week's supply. Market improved 10/-, but still low. Best bullocks £1 10/- to £5. Nearly 12,000 sheep were yarded; market steady. Prime wed dcre 12/0 to 18/-. 1000 store bullocks from ifaranoa were sold at £2 17/6 each. MELBOURNE, June 28. ' Power, Rutherford & Co. report 2300 cattle entered. 1800 were yarded to-day; prices same at last week. 12,000 sheep were penned; jnioes firm at late rates.

The eighth exhibition of the Barcoo 1 Pastoral Society, held on their grounds' at Blackall on the 29th tilt., aud briefly alluded to in our last, may justly b" considered as regards the excellent dis play of sheep, as the most successful of the Society's efforts. Not only were nearly all the leading stations in the district veil and worthily represented, but the public interest in the compara tive excellence of the stock (beginning from the arrival of the various exhibits the evening previous to the show, and fulminating on the declaration of the JfMges' award) was greater than we remember to have seen at the previous exhibitions of the Society. This is doubtless in a great measure due to the large number of exhibits in all classes, which naturally evoked keen competi tion, and to the fact that some well known flocks in the district were for the first time placed in competition with those that have for ...

TUK DINNER. THE annual dinner of the Society was held this year in the large room of Mr. O'Malley's i new hotel. The armngeweuts were in every respect excellent, and eucli a banquet, it was universally acknowledged, had never before I been given in IUackall, The table at the head of the mom was ornamented with rac ing trophies, and challenge cups won at I previous shows of the Society* which were I made to do duty as fruit rpcrgneg. There was plenty of room for the 01 gentlemen who sat down to dinner, and a Miflicieney of good wine to enliven the proceeding* until 1 o'clock the next morning.
