The report of the census-takers shows that there are over eighty manufactories in Brenham including shoe shops,etc. Miss Lizzie Thornton has been elected sponsor of the Brenham Light Guard in place of Mrs. Linn, neo Miss Emma Wilkins. Mr. K . L. Burses, the clock man, sustained the reputation of the Bren ham gun club at the Hempstead shoot on Friday. He won a number of first prizes. Mb. Julius Dodt, the popular ipweler at Mr. L. Josie Hall, a young colored woman, committed suicide at Austin by taking an overdose of morphine. The comptroller has purchased S5000 worth of Caldwell county bonds for the permanent school fund. Frank Gardener, about 20 years old, was accidentally shot in a sa loon at San Angelo by John John son. The wound was pronounced fatal.
